Our adoption process is designed to help us find the best match for both you and our cats.

Adoption is a lifelong commitment. We’re looking for families ready to provide a safe, loving home for the life of their cat.

Kittens are adopted in pairs.

An ARL cat always has a home with us. If you can no longer care for your cat, they must be returned to Animal Rescue League.

Our Adoption Process

Submit an Application
Complete our online application and tell us about you, your family, and the cat(s) you’re interested in adopting.

Application Review
We’ll review your application and, if needed, contact your veterinarian or landlord/property manager.

Meet Your New Companion
Spend time getting to know the cat(s) and see if it’s the right match for everyone.

🏡 STEP 4
Home Visit
We'll schedule a home visit to answer questions and help ensure your new companion has a safe environment.

❤️ STEP 5
Welcome Home
Complete the adoption agreement and welcome your new family member home.

Getting Ready for Your New Cat

Have your home kitty-proofed and the basics ready: food and water bowls, litter box and litter, scratching post, safe toys, carrier, and a comfortable place to settle in.

We’ll let you know what food and litter your cat currently uses and provide guidance to help make the transition into their new home as comfortable as possible.
